Other Resources

The Foundation has supported efforts by Tony Proscio and Andy Goodman to improve the practice of communications by nonprofits and foundations.

Tony Proscio has written three books on "foundation jargon," cataloging and commenting on examples of misused words and phrases. The use of jargon, and the confusion it creates, can damage or undercut even the most well-intentioned of foundation efforts–making it difficult for everyone to clearly understand and effectively discuss the ideas and issues that drive foundation grantmaking and related activities.

Likewise, noted communicator Andy Goodman has produced of two guides, Why Bad Ads Happen to Good Causes , and Why Bad Presentations Happen to Good Causes , to help nonprofits and foundations create more effective public service announcements and presentations.
